In class we start every meeting with one or two cases from actuality that some how relate to our course topic of Public Relations, (news) media and the Public. You are strongly encouraged to post a short description of that case with a hyperlink here on the blog, when you have found one.
An example that I came across during the summer is this news item that shows that in the continuing issue of climate change (where countless different organizations (if not all) are involved in), climate deniers get more media attention then scientists. Read the full article, which is based on a publication in Nature Communications here.
The article triggers many questions, like: 'what is the reason that the experts get way less media attention then the partisan deniers'? 'Which interests do these deniers represent?' 'What could be the effects of this media bias?' etc.
You are welcome to share your thoughts about these and other questions below in the comments, or in class!
